Description
Air Liquide is a world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health. Present in 60 countries with 66 300 employees, the Group serves more than 4 million customers and patients. Oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen are small molecules essential to life, matter and energy. They embody Air Liquide's scientific territory and have been at the heart of the Group's business since its creation in 1902. Air Liquide places diversity at the heart of its activities and is committed in particular to promoting professional equality and the employment of workers with disabilities. The Paris Innovation Campus (78 - Les Loges en Josas) is Air Liquide's largest R&D center. It develops innovative solutions for all of the Group's activities. More than 250 researchers work in 48 laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and experimental platforms, enabling them to explore numerous research How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Air Liquide is committed to the energy transition, in particular to decarbonize industry and heavy transport. Air Liquide has been developing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies for 15 years with the Cryocap™ solution. Air Liquide has a large laboratory and pilot test platform at the Innovation Campus Paris, to innovate in the field of CO2 capture using a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) process. Being continuous innovation one of R&D missions, innovative adsorbents able to enhance the performances of a PSA need to be studied. Air Liquide has an adsorption process simulation tool that allows to optimize cycles and to design industrial units. The proposed study is to investigate the possibility of enhancing the performances of the adsorption process by using adsorbent materials with modified crystalline structure compared to the one industrially used. The objectives of the proposed placement are: running a literature review on the adsorbents used for the separation of N2/CO2 mixtures; define possible adsorbents that could be used to enhancePSA performances; define a datafile for the selected adsorbents; running PSA cycle for the separation N2/CO2 using the selected adsorbents; compare the performances with those achieved in the industrial application run cycle optimization using the selected adsorbents; Are you a MATCH? Final year engineering school student in process engineering or generalist with a process engineering option. Knowledge of programming (Python, Fortran, etc.) Knowledge of adsorption is a plus. Additional Information Air Liquide has been awarded the Happy Trainees label. The internship will be carried out at Campus Innovation Paris, Air Liquide's R&D center in France located in Loges-en-Josas (1, Chemin de la Porte des Loges).
