The Regal Theatre Redruth, Cornwall: Technical Stage Hand
We are looking for an enthusiastic, multi-skilled candidate with a keen interest in, and knowledge of, the day-to-day workings of live theatre to assist with the technical set-up of all Regal Theatre Redruth & Ritz Theatre Penzance events.
Responsible for operational and maintenance duties as scheduled, duties include setting up/striking activities, operating audio, lighting, A/V, and other equipment. The successful candidate will assist the Technical and Stage Managers in all these duties.
Both theatres are receiving houses with varied seasons, including both artistic and commercial activities. Candidates will be required to have a flexible approach to working patterns and ideally will have experience of working with either repertory or touring companies.
Any successful applicant will train with our current in-house crew to become an all-round technician and stagehand. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with sensitivity and creativity. The post holder will have a good eye for detail, proven technical abilities, and the ability to work flexibly, independently, and efficiently to deadlines. They will be keen to work with young people, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be proactive in providing exceptional customer service.
