Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Under 30 years old at the start of the internship;
  • Completed degree (college, bachelor’s, or higher) in robotics, mechatronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, or a related field;
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee legally allowed to work in Canada;
  • Never previously participated in the NRC IRAP Youth Employment Program;
  • Curiosity, autonomy, and willingness to learn by working on a high-impact, real-world project.
    No prior agricultural experience is required. Training on specific agricultural aspects will be provided.

As an intern, you will be supported by experienced team members and will participate in:

  • Assembling and integrating robotic modules (weeding tools, sensors, cameras, embedded systems);
  • Developing or improving software for weed detection (computer vision, AI, control trajectories);
  • Conducting real-world field tests on farms;
  • Preparing technical documentation and analyzing results to improve system performance;
  • Contributing to R&D activities in robotics, AI, or mechatronics, depending on your background
