Description

The Growth Company’s Business Growth Hub (BGH) seeks a Stakeholder Account Manager to manage relationships with Local Authorities. This role involves coordinating delivery activities, understanding local business needs, and ensuring impactful economic outcomes. The manager will work with BGH Specialist Services and Local Authorities to provide inclusive, place-based business support aligned with local ambitions.
GC BGH is a community of specialists with a passion to help businesses across Greater Manchester to realise their ambitions. Since 2011, the Hub has supported more than 15,000 businesses including start-ups, scale-ups, and established businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region. We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experienced in strategic relationship management and proven business development ability.
  • Undertaking 360 business diagnostic reviews and knowledge of appropriate business analytical tools.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders from both private and public sector.
  • Good knowledge of one or more of Greater Manchester’s frontier and foundational sectors.
  • A sound understanding of current social, economic, and political priorities.
  • Credible, personable, and approachable style to build enduring relationships and rapport with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a strong relationship between Business Growth Hub and the specific Local Authority, build trust and understand their specific ambitions and challenges.
  • Be the lead point of contact between Business Growth Hub and the Local Authority for operational activity and business support activity providing frequent updates between both organisations.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues from specialist service to deliver Business Group Hub activity to generate economic impact.
  • Have an awareness of Growth Company engagement with Local Authorities and work in Partnership with GC divisions to ensure a coherent and integrated business support offer.
  • Manage regular meetings of advisors working in specific Local Authority to coordinate and priorities activity, review client activity, and monitor client engagement, and economic impact.
  • Meet regularly with Local Authorities to update them on BGH activity. report quarterly on BGH performance data, add context to the data and be able to use data to influence future planning.
  • Produce regular update reports on activity within the Local Authority.
  • Establish the same strong relationships, across the Growth Company and with external stakeholders such as private sector partners and sector organisations to ensure that our clients receive the most appropriate and holistic support available having specific focus on UK SPF target groups and their networks.
  • Attend events and run drop-in clinics representing BGH services and engage with businesses, register new clients, and refer them into Growth Hub services.
  • Maintain a current knowledge on the wider economic landscape and its primary influences. Specifically, they will need to understand the wider sectoral picture, developments in the GC and delivery partner service portfolios as well as the wider changes in the economic and political landscapes.
