Stakeholder Engagement Officer Do you love connecting with people, telling a great story, and being at the heart of major community projects? Join Downer’s Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) and play a key role in building strong, meaningful connections between the project and the Maryborough community. Based in Maryborough, this role includes regular on-site engagement at the Project Information Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on stakeholder engagement role where no two days are the same — from welcoming and engaging visitors at the Project Information Centre to supporting major communications across one of Queensland’s most high-profile and transformative infrastructure programs. About the Role As the Stakeholder Engagement Officer, you’ll support the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team to deliver proactive, respectful and impactful engagement across QTMP, with a strong focus on our Maryborough Project Information Centre. You’ll be the friendly face of the project, helping build awareness, trust and community support, while ensuring all activities align with client and Downer expectations, including Zero Harm (Safety and Environment) principles. What You’ll Be Doing Staff the Maryborough Project Information Centre, welcoming visitors and creating positive, two-way conversations Support the delivery of the stakeholder engagement program in line with project and construction milestones Monitor stakeholder risks, issues and opportunities and help recommend engagement strategies Support community events and engagement activities as required Help deliver communications across digital and visual platforms (website, social media, videos and more) Supporting the wider Community and Stakeholder engagement team with ongoing reporting requirements, finance and file management. What we’re looking for: Experience in a stakeholder-facing, communications or engagement role desirable Exposure to government contracts, major infrastructure, engineering, civil or public transport projects IAP2 Certificate in Engagement (preferred) Experience using Consultation Manager (highly regarded) Confident engaging with diverse community stakeholders Strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Adobe (including InDesign) Why Join Downer?
