Description JOB SUMMARY Be part of the action behind the scenes of live racing! This role supports the Racing Secretary and Racing Director by coordinating stall assignments, monitoring horse movement, and maintaining an organized, compliant stable area. You’ll oversee stable operations, create work orders, assist in stall work & dorm work orders, and ensure stalls and common areas are properly maintained—playing a key role in the daily success of the Racing Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate will assist the Racing Secretary & Director of Racing in the allotment of stalls in stable area. Require compliance in the allotment of stalls. Candidate must make sure all trainers maintain his/her common areas. Candidate will create work orders for any repairs that need done. Candidate will monitor the incoming and outgoing of horses in the stable area. Candidate will keep Racing Director and Racing Secretary informed of all circumstances involving the stable area. Coordinate assigning stalls in the receiving and stakes barns on a daily basis. Assign stalls to each horsemen and follow up to make certain stalls are used appropriately. Help assign tasks for barn and dorm maitenacne. Candidate must contribute to the racing department team by overseeing and following through with assigned tasks. (other duties as assigned) REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Flexible schedule must be able to work split shifts. Candidate must be able to enforce the rules of Racing. Applicant must be able to maintain a level head in intense circumstances. Candidate is required to be able to obtain/maintain a Louisiana Racing License. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent. LAD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES TO THIS JOB DESCRIPTION WHENEVER NECESSARY.
