Description
Work through the process of taking sheet metal (Steel & Aluminum) from early FEAS to running at rate in the stamping plants. Support plants with die/automation relocation and insource actions along with emergency offloads in the event of a press breakdown. Collaborate with Stamping Engineering work groups to improve process and die design deliverables for automation in support of company quality/cost/timing objectives.CA Develop and implement new automated manufacturing processes as well as identify and implement continuous improvements for existing processes through equipment and product launches. Equipment Design analysis including layout for maintainability, equipment uptime, production throughput, reliability, foundations, and electrical/mechanical installations. Write technical specifications for new equipment, tooling, improvements, and repairs. Investigate and research new automation technology to improve manufacturing efficiency. Complete risk assessments concurrently with multiple suppliers and plant engineering during design/build. Estimate budget and secure quotes for investment studies. Establish and maintain master schedule with technical assistance and plant labor coordination. Execute purchase orders. Support emergency breakdowns (calls after hours/weekends sometimes are expected). Provide analysis of failures and interpret test results, and complete failure reports. Provide on-site support during launch/production runs at the plants. Learn and execute Ford Safety process: Risk Assessments, Safety Pre-task Analysis, PROTAG, and ECPL. Maintain project budgets and use Ford financial reporting systems (PCAM & PFR). Maintain and update equipment and tooling records. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in similar field. Min of 1-3 years' experience in CATIA/NX or Press Programming. Strong communication and organizational skills. Understands Energy Control and Power Lockout and risk assessment process in equipment design and operation. Must have strong Project Management skills and be able to lead suppliers, plant personnel and engineering team members to achieve targets and goals. Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically. Understanding of stamping feasibility, die process engineering, dies, presses, automation tooling & press/robot programming regarding part transferring. Understands robotics, servo motion control, machining, and fundamental metallurgical properties of materials used in machine design. Understands High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) & Hot Stamping equipment and process. Understanding of Hydraulic and pneumatic controls and operation preferred. Understanding of Human Centered Design. Problem solving skills using statistics and problem-solving methodologies (6 Sigma, FMEA, 8D). Willingness to travel weekly to the multiple plant sites (US and Mexico)
