The Role We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and talented Safeguarding Manager to join our dynamic team. Job Purpose The Safeguarding Manger will support the Head of Safeguarding in providing strategic and operational leadership for safeguarding across Coventry City Football Club. The role is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of safeguarding arrangements across the First Team, Academy, Sky Blues in the Community (SBiTC), stadium operations and all Club activities. Working closely with internal departments and external safeguarding partners, the Safeguarding Manager will help ensure the Club meets its statutory responsibilities and complies with Premier League, EFL, FA and wider safeguarding standards. The Safeguarding Manager will provide professional safeguarding advice, supports the management of safeguarding concerns, oversees operational safeguarding practice, contributes to governance and quality assurance, and deputises for the Head of Safeguarding where required. Key Responsibilities Support the operational delivery of safeguarding across all Club activities. Provide safeguarding advice and guidance to staff, volunteers, players and families. Assist in the management of safeguarding concerns, referrals and investigations. Monitor compliance with safeguarding policies, training, DBS checks and safer recruitment requirements. Support safeguarding audits, inspections and governance reporting. Deliver safeguarding training and awareness initiatives. Build effective relationships with football authorities, statutory agencies and safeguarding partners. Deputise for the Head of Safeguarding when required. About You We are looking for someone who: Has significant safeguarding experience working with children and/or adults at risk. Possesses a strong understanding of UK safeguarding legislation and best practice. Has experience managing safeguarding cases and working with external agencies. Demonstrates excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills. Can handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
