POSITION OVERVIEW

Calian is currently hiring a Junior Standard Support Designer to support our customer at Canadian Forces Base Borden. This role requires an on-site presence to complete tasks requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the conduct of training and education evaluation (both student and programme evaluation)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • You must hold or be able to obtain a Government of Security Clearance at the Reliability Level
  • You must be able to work on site
Responsibilities
  • Be responsive to the instructions set out by Standards OC, or their designate
  • Coordinate activities with the assigned Officer in Command (OIC) and Standards Warrant Officer
  • Perform standards specific support to CFLTC Financial Services Administrator (FSA) training, in a manner consistent with CFLTC USOs and BBSAIs
  • Administer assessments for marked student assignments in accordance with provided rubrics and within HRA course’s respective Training Plans
  • Conduct Standards briefs at the commencement of FSA training courses
  • Provide written and/or verbal feedback following the conclusion of each course’s respective performance checks, highlighting key shortcomings and providing corrective actions
  • Mark Individual performance checks and provide feedback within 1 day of submission of the performance check as per the course schedule
  • Use DND computer and information technology systems for the conduct of synchronous activities. Such systems include, but are not limited to, MS Outlook, MS Teams, and conference calls
  • Attend initial orientation session to be scheduled by OC Standards, or their designate.
  • Prepare and maintain Training Plans (TPs) by: holding the Master Copy; recommending changes; liaising with instructors; and rewriting, amending and updating the information as indicated
  • Review productive hours and instructor calculations submitted by training Squadrons to ensure conformity with current TPs and School Work Instructions
  • Write multiple choice items and maintain question banks to create Supporting Knowledge Exams (SKE)
  • Develop assessment plans for SKEs
  • Generate examinations from assessment plans
  • Generate Performance Checks (PCs) from the Job Based Occupational Specification (JBOS) and Qualification Standard
  • Invigilate SKEs & PCs
  • Correct and score examinations and having examination analysis worksheets completed
  • Analyze examinations and provide feedback from SKEs/PCs to training staff and trainees
  • Perform statistical and item analyses to determine and/or validate SKEs/PCs
  • Monitor PCs to confirm standard set in TP is being realistically achieved
  • Generate and maintain student study manuals
  • Action feedback for continuous improvement of the implementation of training and/or development of ideas for training/learning aids
