POSITION OVERVIEW

The Standards Officer / Training Evaluator will support our Department of National Defence (DND) based client in delivering high-quality training to Canadian and Allied intelligence professionals. This role is responsible for evaluating training delivery, ensuring compliance with established standards, and supporting the development, maintenance, and translation of courseware. The position plays a key role in maintaining the credibility and relevance of defence intelligence training by overseeing instructional quality and providing feedback to improve course effectiveness. Work will be conducted on-site at CFB Kingston.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Any AJES (QL6A LAND), AJET (QL6A AIR), AJER (QL6A SEA), AAGX (QL6A SEA), AJEL (BIOC SEA), AJEM (BIOC LAND), AJEN (BIOC AIR), AGHJ (CI), or ALVU, ALTU, AIMC or Five Eyes equivalent military Source Handler Operator course qualification or equivalent.
  • Any AIPB (BMOQ), AIOX (BMOQ LAND), AINR (PLQ Common), or AHCH (Basic Instructional techniques) qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a CAF military Intelligence position, including deployment experience, domestic or expeditionary, in a military Intelligence function.
  • Must be able to work onsite.
  • Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a Federal Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Secret level.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, living within Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Support training quality by ensuring compliance with CFITES and Training Plans (TPs).
  • Develop, administer, and validate evaluation frameworks, strategies, and tools (e.g., questionnaires, tests, interviews, focus groups, observations).
  • Evaluate the relevance, effectiveness, and use of training tools, methods, and assessments.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data to measure achievement of training objectives and support course improvement.
  • Administer and manage course performance checks (PCs), end course critiques, and reporting processes.
  • Provide recommendations and reports outlining key findings, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
  • Support the End Course Report (ECR) process by participating in reviews, critiques, and hot washes.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of instructors and training delivery to ensure compliance with methodology and standards.
  • Maintain evaluation records, scoring sheets, and the standards database.
  • Report non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions to the chain of command.
