THE ROLE
As a barista with us you will be responsible for a wide range of different tasks in your day-to-day interactions with your customers. From taking customer orders, to recommending new products and making awesome drinks, your routine can change in the blink of an eye. As a barista you will be expected to adapt to the changing needs throughout the store rapidly.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Greeting our customers, connecting with them, taking their name, and making them feel welcome
· Being able to talk through our menus and answer questions regarding ingredients to ensure customers’ needs are listened to
· Taking orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and allergens)
· Preparing beverages following recipes and serving prepared food, like cookies, pastries, muffins, and tasty hot and cold sandwiches.
· Receiving and processing payments in a friendly manner using card machines and contactless payment.
· Keeping the bar area and customer areas (café and toilets) clean for our customers and our teams
· Maintaining stock of clean mugs, cups, plates, cutlery etc so that we can serve our customers quickly and don’t keep them waiting
· Using equipment like dishwashers, cleaning products and ice-machines (full training is provided)
· Complying with health and safety regulations, keeping on top of all training to make sure you keep yourself and each other safe at work
· Working with aggregators such as Uber in a friendly and personable manner.
· Moving stock safely, working with hot and cold temperatures.
