The START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) model serves people diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This comprehensive model of service supports and optimizes independence, treatment, and community living for individuals with I/DD and behavioral health needs.
Under the direction of the region’s START leadership, the START Coordinator will provide coverage for START services and participates in 24/7 administrator on-call systems, as needed.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)

KEY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
For some START programs, a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other human service field with 5 years’ experience working with people who have IDD and mental health needs is acceptable. This is an exception and the START program should work collaboratively with the Center for START Services to determine when necessary.
