JOB SUMMARY

This posting is being used to fill two (2) identical vacancies.
This role will lead and support the Health Informatics department in strategically improving the usability and effectiveness of electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance clinical workflows. They design and deliver engaging training programs for all EHR users, provide ongoing support, gather user feedback, and drive adoption to ensure smooth integration of EHR tools into daily practice.
EHR User Experience & Adoption Specialist provides targeted support and learning opportunities for medical staff by creating and delivering role specific, performance based EHR training. Ensures end-users are proficient in EHR functionalities, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system use to improve clinical workflows. Using informatics methods, the specialist promotes safe and effective EHR usage, focusing on the interaction between people, processes, and technology for accurate, efficient, and safe patient care. Collaborating with clinical teams to identify learning needs, develop materials, and deliver ongoing education to enhance system adoption and patient care outcomes. Additionally, they serve as a key liaison between clinical users and health IT teams to enhance the EHR user experience through personalized support, training, and workflow optimization- driving adoption, satisfaction, and effective use of the system.

Key responsibilities:

  • First line of support for clinical application users
  • Works with project teams in operational and organizational analysis to identify areas of needed improvement
  • Contributes to development of training plans and conducts training for users on applications
  • Works as an active member of the clinical project team and adhere to project plans communication and coordination of essential user support across Direct Care and Treatment service lines.
  • Develops, delivers and maintains end user training materials and performance support tools to support learning objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and proposing enhancements to current workflows and systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of professional experience in Electronic Medical/Health Record applications including:

  • Experience with Electronic Medical/Health Record (EMR/EHR) systems across multiple disciplines, including user support, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in analyzing user needs and developing effective EHR solutions and instructional materials.
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs for adult learners, incorporating needs assessment, adult learning principles, and evaluation methods.
  • Proficient in communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiar with learning management systems and other training, communication, feedback tracking tools.

Note: A bachelor’s degree or higher in Informatics, Health Care, IT or related field or related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical background (nursing, pharmacy etc.) and in-depth knowledge of medical record systems.
  • Proven experience in EHR Optimization or clinical workflow redesign
  • Expertise in developing and delivering adult learning programs in a clinical or healthcare IT setting.
  • Change management or user adoption expertise- familiarity with change management frameworks and experience leading user adoption strategies for new tools or system updates in healthcare.
