Under the general direction of the Chief Engineer, the Stationary Engineer, C.F. shall supervise, instruct, lead and work with a crew of incarcerated individuals engaged in operating maintaining and repairing heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Maintains and repairs pumps, valves, appurtenance and piping used in the distribution of steam and heated processed water, refrigeration compressors, condensers and pneumatic devices. Repairs and maintains all types of motors used to power pumps, compressors and fans, single phase and multi-phase electrical circuits. Inspects and trouble shoots electrical and mechanical systems and equipment to identify repairs needed. Prepares costs estimate for stores, supplies, and equipment. Keeps records and makes reports.
Maintain security, leading and supervising incarcerated people, prevents escapes and injury by those persons to themselves and others or to property. Maintains the security to working areas and work materials, inspects premises and searches incarcerated people for contraband.

POSSESSION OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE VERIFIED PRIOR TO INTERVIEW AND/OR APPOINTMENT. IF YOU ARE MEETING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WITH EDUCATION, YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS/DIPLOMA FOR VERIFICATION. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS MAY BE REQUIRED UPON APPOINTMENT. IF IT IS DETERMINED AN APPLICANT DOES NOT MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, THE CANDIDATE WILL BE WITHHELD FROM THE ELIGIBILITY LIST, RENDERING THEM INACTIVE AND INELIGIBLE TO BE HIRED FOR THE POSITION. CANDIDATES WHO HAVE BEEN WITHHELD MAY FILE AN APPEAL WITH THE STATE PERSONNEL BOARD.
