POSITION OVERVIEW:
Conducts and supports data analysis and data management, primarily for studies of aging at the San Francisco Coordinating Center. Participates in the design and dissemination of the research studies in which they are involved. Collaborates regularly with appropriate resources (internal and external) to problem solve, investigate and identify alternative solutions, and share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
The San Francisco Coordinating Center (SFCC) collaborative group of researchers conducting a variety of multi-site studies and randomized trials. The Study of Muscle, Mobility and Aging (SOMMA) is one of the largest multi-site cohort studies of its kind, exploring the biological processes of aging and mobility. The SFCC also supports several trials: investigating the effect of treatment for obstructive sleep apnea on Alzheimers Disease biomarkers (ESSENTIAL); whether Zoledronic acid reduces risks of falls and fractures in patients with Parkinsons Disease (TOPAZ); if older adults can take a ketone ester dietary supplement to prevent physical frailty (TAKEOFF).
