STEAM Teacher Job Description Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics The Middle School STEAM Teacher will deliver STEAM instruction through project-based learning methods and collaborate with a dynamic team of educators to provide STEAM related experiences to elementary students. The STEAM teacher's primary role will be to facilitate developmentally appropriate STEAM learning activities, experiences and assessments to foster intellectual, physical and social growth. Qualifications / Requirements Certified teacher Bachelor's Degree( Mathematics and/or Science and/or STEAM preferred or related field of study. Delivers STEAM-oriented instruction (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) through Project-Based Learning methods. Create engaging lessons that integrate technology, science and engineering that also develops student critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrates a vested interest in the success, future and Vision of Renaissance Academy Excellent oral and written communication skills Pedagogical skills in literacy and numeracy Proficiency in Google Suite Characteristics of an RA Staff Member Renaissance Academy views their Teachers as professional, leaders and learners in their classrooms. Staff is expected to model and facilitate learning for their students while maintaining a safe and secure environment for their students. An RA Teacher is expected to be honest and fair while keeping the best interests of the school students at the forefront of decisions and discussions. An RA Teacher has a clear sense of the school's Vision and focus on continuous improvement. He / She is able to see and articulate how they fit directly into that plan and can influence others to drive the Mission of the school toward high levels of success and achievement. They are focused on forward planning and aware of how their role fits into the 'bigger scope' of school-wide needs. Unique Experiences : Providing a challenge to each student, each day. Teachers are expected to achieve this through - Daily Monitor and hold students accountable regarding classroom deadlines , expectations and goals / norms of the classroom Provide rigorous and challenging activities and lessons for the students' benefit and are able to differentiate instruction to support struggling learners while challenging quicker learners. Post and review daily learning objectives and agenda with the students in relation to curricula objectives Conduct a warm-up (Do Now) and closing activity each class period Return any sort of family or student communication within 48 hours Assign homework and outside learning activities as needed to reinforce the instruction and/or prepare students for future learning. Weekly Provide guidance toward student goal setting, monitoring of grades and follow-up on MTSS needs Communicate with co-teachers, team members or admin related to needs of students in classroom settings Communicate with families regarding student success and needs Update gradebooks Assess students frequently using formative and summative assessments Monthly Report concerns and accomplishments to their lead teacher, curriulcm leads and principals Attend staff meetings once a month Attend departmental meetings once a month at a time determined by the department (Departmentalized Teachers) Make positive phone calls/emails home to families Quarterly Participate in year-long planning by setting house team goals (due each September) Review team Professional Growth Plan with Lead Teacher and Team Members Develop SLC comments and student goals Participate in SLC conferences once a Trimester from 8AM-8PM Thursday and 8am – 12pm Friday. Yearly Attend a variety of events, performances & family involvement opportunities throughout the school year in support of the staff and students (year-long) Establish year-long personal professional goals Document progress on professional goals and present to your team and administrators Call all Homebase students at the start of the year (if applicable)
