🌟 UPMC Junior Scholars Program at UPMC Mercy Pavilion In partnership with Steel Center for Career and Technical Education Steel Center for Career and Technical Education students are invited to apply for the UPMC Junior Scholars Program, a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting while fulfilling academic requirements for their career and technical education program. 🗓 Key Dates Application Deadline: November 25, 2025 Virtual Interviews: December 3, 2025 | 8:15 AM – 10:00 AM Mandatory Orientation: January 27 & 29, 2026 Program Duration: February 3 – March 26, 2026 Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM 🏥 Program Overview Hosted at UPMC Mercy, this transformational program offers students the chance to explore various hospital departments and contribute meaningfully to patient care and hospital operations. Participants will develop professional skills, enhance teamwork, and gain exposure to real-world healthcare environments. 💼 Student Responsibilities Greeting and escorting patients and visitors Distributing supplies Delivering meals Supporting environmental maintenance Managing equipment Providing administrative assistance No two days will be the same—this is a dynamic and enriching experience designed to broaden your understanding of healthcare careers. To be considered for the UPMC Junior Scholars Program, applicants must meet the following criteria: Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrate the desire, drive, and compassion necessary to consistently deliver an exceptional experience for patients and their families. Enrollment Status: Be actively enrolled in a High School or GED program through Steel Center for Career and Technical Education. Communication Skills: Possess the ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
