JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer/Nip Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural ironwork and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site to ensure the successful completion of projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with carpentry practices is advantageous.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
  • Experience in masonry work is a plus but not essential.
  • A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting materials on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, and erect metal structures, including beams, columns, and frameworks.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques to join metal components securely.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing materials.
  • Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials as required on-site.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure seamless integration of ironwork into broader construction projects.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Operate lorries for transporting materials when necessary.
  • Assist in roofing tasks as required during project execution.
