JOB SUMMARY

Helix Contracting is a growing general contractor specializing in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) Industry.
Our customers are Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments throughout Ontario.
We are seeking a skilled Steel Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various steel fabrication processes and be proficient in using a range of tools and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in construction of water treatment plants is an asset.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in steel fabrication or related manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, ductwork installation, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with basic math concepts for accurate measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
  • Ability to operate various power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble steel structures according to blueprints and schematics.
  • Understand welding techniques to join metal components securely.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform rigging tasks to lift heavy materials using cranes and other lifting devices.
  • Conduct machining operations and utilize hand tools, power tools, and calipers for precise measurements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly of components.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times.
