Position Summary The STEM Lead leads the daily operations of the STEM Station after-school and summer camp programs. This role is responsible for program planning, curriculum development, staff supervision, and ensuring that every child experiences safe, engaging, and innovative learning opportunities. The STEM Director serves as a role model, mentor, and leader for both staff and students, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and character development through Conscious Discipline practices. Program Leadership & Curriculum Design, implement, and oversee high-quality STEAM-based activities that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with our mission. Adapt programming to meet the needs and interests of school-age children during both the academic year and summer camp. Ensure activities integrate Conscious Discipline principles to promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior. Staff Supervision & Training Recruit, train, and mentor STEM Station staff to deliver outstanding programming and maintain high professional standards. Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing feedback and support. Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment. Operations & Compliance Oversee daily program operations, including scheduling, safety protocols, and transportation logistics. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and curriculum documentation. Ensure compliance with state licensing, safety regulations, and Early Care and Education policies. Family & Community Engagement Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and program activities. Represent STEM Station in community outreach, partnerships, and events. Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with split shifts from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required for events. Compensation: Salary based on education and experience. Requirements Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree in education, child development, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred). At least 2 years of experience in program coordination or leadership in a school-age, STEM, or camp setting. Strong understanding of child development and experience creating STEAM-focused curricula. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team while maintaining a fun, safe, and structured environment. Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to drive a mini bus as needed. Must meet Texas state licensing requirements for school-age program directors.
