Job Description
To assist with planning and executing STEM learning communities for students on campus. STEM peer mentors will check in with a faculty supervisor regularly and will be expected to hold an event for the STEM on a regular basis. This opportunity is supported by an NSF S-STEM grant and the goal of the events are to increase interest and persistence in STEM on CSS campus.
Job Duties:
* Communicate events to students on campus through flyers and community email.
* Plan and attend community events.
* Organize and prepare event materials
* Record attendance at all events.
* Prepare summaries of each event.
* Report to a faculty supervisor regularly.
Required Qualifications:
* Must be a current or incoming CSS student
* Federal work study eligibility is required
* Student must be a Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Math or Computer Information Systems major.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Junior or Senior status.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
* Events will occur throughout the academic year. The hours worked are flexible.
