QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Primary Education.
  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Experience in teaching STEM at the primary school level is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students that support wellbeing, motivation, and confidence in learning.
  • Create safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environments that promote curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate STEM curriculum for primary-aged students that encourages inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive STEM lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.
  • Collaborate with other specialist and classroom teachers to integrate STEM learning across the curriculum where appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student learning and progress using a variety of tools and strategies, including digital platforms.
  • Use current technologies and digital tools effectively to enhance student learning in STEM.
  • Uphold and promote the Catholic identity, ethos and values of the school in all interactions and teaching practices.
  • Actively engage with the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, and participate in relevant professional learning and school improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a positive, innovative, and collaborative school culture as a foundation staff member.
