Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to support students in achieving their STEM goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and experience working with children. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students' learning experiences across various subjects, including Robotics, coding and special education. The Tutor will work closely with students to provide personalized instruction in a supportive environment, fostering confidence and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Teach robotics and coding programs to children in small-group settings
- Lead engaging, hands-on STEM activities and projects
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking
- Support students with beginner to intermediate coding concepts
- Develop customized lesson plans and educational materials to enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure cohesive support for student success.
Qualifications
- Experience with coding platforms such as Scratch, Python, Blockly, or similar
- Familiarity with robotics platforms such as LEGO Robotics, Arduino, VEX, etc.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Previous experience teaching or working with children is an asset
- Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds.
- Background or training in special education is advantageous.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates committed to professional growth.
Pay: $18.26-$22.00 per hour
