CURRENT HOLLAND HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES- Please apply through Find Jobs from your Workday employee account. The Sterile Processing Tech Apprentice works under the direct supervision of the Manager. This position is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, sterilization of instrumentation, assembly of instrument trays and receipt and storage of supplies. Pay Range: $16.88 - $23.64/hour Employment Type: Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, includes every 4th weekend Requirements: High School diploma or GED, Must obtain Sterile Processing Certification within six months after hire/transfer. Instrument Processing Under supervision, processes instruments effectively to include cleaning, inspection, and testing for proper functioning, assembly and sterilization according to standards. Replenishment of Clinical Specialty Carts Under supervision, replenishes or assists with the inventory check and restocking of all clinical specialty carts including Adult, Pediatric, and Infant Code Carts; Flexible Cystoscope Cart, Urology Carts, Isolation Carts, House Line Carts, and Dialysis Carts. Picks up and returns Sharps Carts to clinical departments. Assembles/disassembles (or assists with) traction and bed extension devices. Set up of Surgical Case Carts Under supervision, assembles case carts to include all surgery items and instruments in a timely manner for surgical cases. Infection Control Measures Washes hands before and after all procedures including bathroom breaks, uses proper P.P.E. when handling any soiled equipment and monitors and records biological controls. Work Area Keeps work area clean, organized and free of excess material. Keeps all surfaces as dry as possible. Helps maintain a clean break area.
