Job Summary Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and patient care equipment, sterilizes surgical sets and trays, distributes and receives medical equipment and supplies. FLSA: Non-exempt EEO: 01 Officials and Managers 02 Professionals 03 Technicians 04 Sales Workers 05 Administrative Support Workers 06 Craft Workers 07 Operatives 08 Laborers and Helpers X 09 Service Workers Essential Functions Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily Education High school diploma or equivalent, Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
