The South Cascade Surgery Center is growing and we are looking to hire a Sterile Processing Technician who will work as part of the health care team.
We are open Monday through Friday starting at 0600 and close when surgeries are done for the day. Therefore, we require a willingness to work varied hours with flexible schedules. With that in mind, we do not work on Holidays or weekends, and we do not take call. In the event the Surgery Center is closed (physician on vacation, etc) all full-time staff are guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week. In addition, our physicians provide us lunch daily!
Our Sterile Processing Technicians also serve as Operating Room Assistants and manage our surgical inventory. No experience is required and on-the-job training will be provided with the expectation that the employee will receive certification (CBSPD or equivalent) within 18 months of hire, (one-year experience + 6 months certification window).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

AHA BLS certification by end of month from 30 days of hire & maintained.
Candidate must pass Urine Analysis and criminal background check.
Ability to exert up to fifty (50) pounds. Able to sit, stand, walk for prolonged periods. Able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients. Able to do considerable stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
