Able to accept new ideas, and will assist in implementing them into the department. Actively engages in the department's performance improvement activities. Responsibilities: Cooperates with others in a pleasant manner to fulfill the requirements of the position. Sensitive to others’ needs and feelings. Attention to detail in and thorough in completing work assignments with verifying products, quantities, integrity, expiration dates and other specifics related to the handling of surgical instruments and supplies. Assists with answering of telephones in assigned area. Ensures accurate and timely picking and delivery of case carts. Notifies OR when the completed product is ready, especially emergent type cases. Cleans all decontamination and other processing equipment. Decontaminates all contaminated instruments and supplies returned to CSP, always following Standard Precautions when handling. Properly operates the sonic, cart washer, and the washer disinfector units located in the decontamination area of the unit Maintains a current knowledge of Central Service Technology to include updates. Knowledge base of the current hospital instrumentation tracking, reports, data analysis of the Central sterile processing department. Performs tray assembly, including proper packaging and preparation of all applicable supplies for sterilization. Follows manufacturer’s IFU to correctly wrap and/or package items for sterilization. Operates at a personal productivity level of 95% or greater. Reports to Shift Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing, Additional collateral responsibility to the Charge and lead Nurse in all clinical areas, in the spirit of Just culture and service Excellence being fully engaged and connected is essential. What you will need: Required: Sterile Processing Tech Certification – IAHCSMM or CBSPD High School Diploma Ability to read, write, speak and comprehends English. Basic computer skills. Ability to perform simple math. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to do Multiple services lines The basic maintenance of departmental supplies, instrumentation, disposables soaps, detergents and ensuring the security of the department. Advanced computer skills administrative access, Surginet access. Must have the recommendation of their department Manager and be able to efficiently use the Impress System to scan, locate, track and manage the entire sterile processing inventory. Specific Competencies: Competent in utilizing Cerner for reviewing the schedule and preparing for the next day surgery needs for every service line. Competent and comfortable consistently reviewing each service line schedule, preparing the sets, processing the sets, if a loaner is needed acquiring the sets, anticipating the needs before the customer knows what they need, and calling the customer and communicating the status so that they are always informed. Competent in critical thinking and creative solutions if supplies show up late, add on cases took prepared instruments for another case, there is a wet load, or there are holes in wrappers etc. Competent in proactively responding and communicating to the all service line customers with the new solution and/or response to ensure consistent count-on-able patient care. Pay Range: $21.74 - $30.44 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. Responsibilities
