Get to Know Your Team: Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care. Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring that all reusable supplies, such as instruments, equipment, linen, and surgical supplies, are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and distributed. This position includes cleaning and disinfecting the Operating Room or procedural area between patients throughout the day. It includes the reprocessing of instruments in the Operating Room environment utilizing immediate use steam sterilization or per-acetic acid and maintaining the standards of reprocessing at the level utilized in the Central Processing Department, when possible. The incumbent acts as a resource for the Operating Room staff and all other departments within the hospital. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Certification by HSPA required within 18 months of hire. Preferred Job Requirements: Previous hospital experience. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of reusable medical supplies and equipment. This includes cleaning procedural areas and reprocessing instruments within the Operating Room environment.
