Responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. Oversees retrieving contaminated supplies and delivering sterile supplies, maintaining inventory, and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries, examinations, and procedures. Tests and reports any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment’s.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program preferred
• Certified Central Service Technician required (CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification)
• Prior experience preferred.

1. Operates all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to parameters of sterilization.

4. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all FSC policies, procedures and standards and quality of service.
5. Cleans, sets up, sterilizes and distributes instruments as scheduled on each shift.
6. Handles and disposes of infectious waste appropriately.
7. Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, which may include: the use of protective barriers, as appropriate (e.g., gloves, masks, gowns, pocket masks, and/or safety glasses).
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
