Join our dedicated team as a Sterile Processing Technician, at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center where your precision and attention to detail directly support smooth, successful procedures every day. Pay Range: $20.51-$26.15 per hour based on experience and qualifications Requirements As a vital member of our surgical and endoscopy support team, you'll ensure that all instruments, equipment, and environments meet the highest standards of cleanliness, sterilization, and safety. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Decontaminating, cleaning, and disassembling instruments using enzymatic solutions, detergents, and ultrasonic equipment per IFUs (Instructions for Use). Performing accurate sterilization using autoclaves and other equipment, and verifying all indicators, filters, and labeling. Assembling and packaging sterile instrument trays for scheduled surgeries and procedures. Maintaining detailed sterilization and endoscope processing logs. Organizing, storing, and delivering sterile supplies to appropriate departments. Monitoring inventory levels and assisting in equipment ordering and stock management. Supporting GI procedures: assisting providers, preparing equipment, processing endoscopes, and maintaining a clean, safe procedure room. Assisting with patient flow by answering phones, retrieving and transporting patients, and supporting room turnover in OR/Endo/Pre-op/Post-op areas. Performing post-operative follow-up calls and escalating as needed to clinical staff. Minimum education/experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Within one year of hire: Certified as a CSPDT (Sterile processing and distribution technician from CBSPD or CRST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from Healthcare Sterile Processing (HSPA). BLS certification (can be obtained within six months of hire). Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: · Ability to understand and create an environment of open communication with all assigned surgical work group members to ensure a positive outcome for the patient. · Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration. Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted. Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to a tuberculosis screening process.
