Description

The Sterile Processing Technologists are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Sterile Processing Technologists work under the supervision of the Manager and/or the Director of Sterile Processing to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, by ensuring that the operating room instruments are clean, function properly, and are properly sterilized so that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Sterile Processing Technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and proper sterilization processes to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The Sterile Processing Technologist adheres to a culture reflective of Centra’s best practices for quality and service, creates and maintains a safe patient environment, and contributes to a healthy work environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma / GED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Sterile Processing training program. (Or substitute appropriate training/experience.)
