JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Central Sterile Technician is responsible fordecontamination of instruments, sterilization protocols andassembly ofsurgical instrument sets. He/she consistently adheres to proper sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
Your responsibilities will include:

Receives, cleans, processes, assemblesand distributemedical supplies, equipment and surgical instruments

Prepares, assembles and packages all medical equipment and instruments for surgery and other hospital departments

Sterilizes all reusable equipment, supplies and instrumentation

Maintains and operates Central Sterile equipment
-
Handles, transports and stores sterile equipment, instruments and supplies

Helps direct the workflow in Central Sterile Supply
-
Demonstrates department specific skills and competencies, including high-risk, low-volume and problem-pronecompetencies

Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:
Physical Requirements:

Lifting, pushing and pulling greater than50lbsfrequently,carryinggreater than20lbsfrequently

Positional tasks may include frequent/prolonged walking, standing with occasional kneeling,bending,crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing and stooping

Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Depth perceptionand ability to identify colors. Corrected hearing and vision to within functional ranges. Must be able to see and read computer screens and biomedical equipment readouts withor without corrective devices
