Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Core Supervisor, the SPT. prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. The SPT cleans, packages, and processes surgical equipment and instrumentation, as well as maintains inventory and storage of supplies in the core. Additionally, the SPT manages multiple computer applications to assist with sterilization tracking and processes. Responsibilities also include operating and troubleshooting power equipment to process instruments (i.e. autoclaves, washer disinfector, ultrasonic cleaners).
