Description
Memorial Community Hospital and Health System, located in Blair, NE, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support safe, high-quality patient care through the proper cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of medical instrumentation. This role is essential to ensuring all clinical areas have properly processed instruments. The Sterile Processing Technician contributes to departmental and organizational goals by providing timely, accurate, and high-quality sterile processing services while supporting patient safety and satisfaction. At MCH, we are proud to serve our community with high-quality, patient-centered care. What You’ll Do: Schedule: Day hours, 32-40 hours per week. Clean, inspect, assemble, process, and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment according to hospital policy, industry standards, and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU). Follow universal precautions and comply with all OSHA safety requirements. Perform daily and weekly testing and documentation for mechanical equipment, including washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers. Maintain accurate, legible, and complete documentation and logs. Identify instruments requiring repair and assist with routine maintenance processes. Assemble instrument sets using approved checklists and/or instrument tracking systems. Assist with: Case cart assembly OR room turnover (as applicable) High-level disinfection (HLD) and cleaning of GI scopes and TEE probes (where applicable) Utilize sterile processing supplies efficiently and correctly according to IFUs. Participate in departmental activities such as orientation, system education, quality initiatives, daily briefings, and supply management.
