We are currently seeking a passionate individual who is eager to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsible for the daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization and storage processes within all applicable professional standards. Responsibilities Collects, cleans, sanitizes and operates all equipment necessary for the sterilization process. Inspects, assembles, wraps and labels products processed in the department for sterilization according to departmental policies and procedures. Understands the importance of assuring sterilization parameters have been met prior to distribution of any products. Keeps all equipment used for sterilization, i.e.; autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, washer sterilizers and pasteurmatic systems clean. Carts and general work area kept neat, clean and dust free. Maintains all department logs and assigned documentation in accordance with recommended guidelines and departmental policies and procedures. Relates pertinent information to management in a timely manner. Communicates with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner. Reports necessary information from shift to shift in the communication book. Extensive knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation. Acts as training or orientation resource for the staff in Central Sterile and Perioperative services regarding the identification and assembly of instrument trays and all other surgical or department reusable medical supplies. Completes duties as assigned including working different shifts and days to cover for emergencies, illness, vacations and resignations. If assignment permits, will assist co workers, to assure all work assignments are completed, either during shift or shift-to-shift. Contributes to adequate staffing by reporting to work as scheduled. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Central Sterile Technician certification required. Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate in a professional manner to all hospital staff. Solid math skills required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Central Sterile Technician certification required. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
