Your role at St John of God Midland Private Hospital St John of God Midland Private Hospital is seeking motivated Sterilisation Technicians to join our team, commencing late August. In this vital role, you will maintain the integrity, care, and handling of all surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies, and equipment in line with established competencies and infection control standards. Working within a supportive and professional environment, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care in our brand-new facility. The Position Maintains the integrity, care, and handling of surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies, and equipment in line with competency standards, including knowledge of AS 5369:2023. Ensures a safe, clean environment by adhering to infection control principles and using authorised cleaning products. Promotes effective communication, teamwork, and a customer-focused culture across the Operating Suite, CSD, and wider hospital. Manages time, resources, and equipment efficiently, including inventory control, monitoring storage areas, and ensuring adequate supplies are prepared and available. Performs sterilisation duties, including daily and weekly testing and cleaning of sterilisers, while maintaining accurate records. Acts as a technical resource, supporting CSSD staff and other departments, assisting with training, competency validation, and sharing updates on relevant technologies. Participates in unit resource roles, rotational duties in the Operating Suite, departmental projects, and ongoing professional development, including mandatory training and competency requirements. Undertakes all other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager or Supervisor. The successful candidates will demonstrate a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (HLT37015) or equivalent (AQF3), along with well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills. You will have strong time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative approach is essential, with proven ability to liaise and work closely with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams. Candidates will also bring the ability to support teaching and knowledge sharing within CSSD and related areas, along with a strong commitment to customer service. Previous relevant experience in a sterilisation or healthcare setting will be highly regarded. About the new Midland Private Hospital A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus. A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region The hospital will feature: 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit. 33-bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit Eight operating theatres.
