YOUR ROLE

As a Sterilising Technician you’ll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our patients. You will play a critical role in our operating theatres, responsible for the care, handling and reprocessing of reusable medical instruments in accordance with the national standards.

Your tasks will include:

• Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging, and sterilisation of all instruments
• Cleaning, decontamination, sorting and assembling surgical instrument trays
• Provision of excellent care and service to clients in line with their personalised care plans
• Using a holistic approach, working within a multidisciplinary team, achieving the optimum care for clients
• Liaison with and referral to other organisations as required provide for the client’s needs

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate III in Sterilisation and current knowledge of the national standards
• Minimum 2 years previous experience within similar role
• Good computer & mobile device skills
• First Aid & CPR certificates, required within one month of commencement
• Be vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19
• Current National Police Check
• Where applicable, Disability Services Queensland screening and Working with Children Check will also be required
