Role Overview The Sterilization Records Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment. This team member ensures that all orthodontic instruments are properly sterilized and lab operations run smoothly, while also managing accurate patient records and assisting in diagnostic imaging. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, team-focused, and passionate about providing excellent care and service. Key Responsibilities Sterilization & Lab Support: Properly decontaminate and sterilize orthodontic instruments following OSHA and CDC guidelines Maintain and organize sterilization equipment and supplies Fabricate retainers and other dental appliances Pour molds, manage impressions, and assist in model work Check in and track dental appliances from outside labs Maintain lab inventory and ensure readiness for patient needs Records & Patient Onboarding: Accurately manage and update patient records Take high-quality patient x-rays and intraoral/external photos (e.g., occlusal, facial front, right/left intraoral) Ensure proper documentation of all diagnostic imaging and lab work Support both clinical and front office teams as needed Communicate effectively and respectfully with doctors and team members Foster a clean, organized, and patient-friendly environment Requirements Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Strong organizational and time management skills Flexible schedule availability Comfortable with physical activity (sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs) Preferred Qualifications: 1–2 years recent experience in a dental or orthodontic environment Familiarity with orthodontic terminology, treatment plans, and lab work \ Benefits: Competitive benefits package including PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance Company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance Robust 401(k) plan with company match (up to 4%) Southern Orthodontic Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
