Website: Southwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Responsibilities: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all dental instruments, equipment, and tools in accordance with infection control procedures and regulatory standards. Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other tools used for sterilization. Ensure sterilization processes are completed efficiently and thoroughly, maintaining accurate records of sterilization cycles and documentation. Regularly inspect sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and promptly report any issues for maintenance or repair. Follow proper protocols for handling and disposal of contaminated materials, including gloves, gauze, and other medical waste. Maintain an organized sterilization area and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked, including disinfectants, sterilizing agents, and packaging materials. Monitor inventory levels of sterilization-related supplies and notify the office manager when additional supplies are needed. Ensure sterilized instruments and equipment are stored appropriately and are easily accessible for clinical staff. Perform routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and report any malfunctions. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards and HIPAA compliance, to maintain a sterile, safe environment. Maintain strict compliance with the dental office’s infection control policies, ensuring all staff follows proper sterilization and safety procedures. Regularly review sterilization and infection control procedures to stay up to date with industry best practices and regulations. Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and other clinical staff to ensure that all instruments and equipment are available and ready for patient procedures.
