Job Details Job Location: Hick - Hickory, NC 28602 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: High School Sterilization Technician About Smile Starters Smile Starters is a general dental practice serving children and young adults ages 1–20. We are committed to teaching lifelong dental health while maintaining a clean, safe, and positive environment for both patients and staff. This entry-level position is ideal for a DA I or someone new to dental offices looking to gain experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. This is a three month position covering a LOA. Must be Bilingual in Spanish. We are seeking a dependable, quick learner who takes pride in their work and thrives in a busy, active environment. Job Duties / Responsibilities Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments Set up trays for hygiene and operative treatments Run weekly spore tests to ensure sterilization compliance Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and lights Manage laundry including lab coats and patient towels multiple times daily Monitor and stock patient restrooms Assist dental assistants, hygienists, and dentists as needed Support the team with other duties as assigned Ideal Candidate Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks Able to stand for long periods and multi-task efficiently Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness Proactive problem solver and team player Enjoys a busy, fast-paced workday Skills Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health and safety regulations Basic computer skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and reliability Ability to stand for extended periods Bilingual in Spanish Required Requirements CPR Certification preferred Experience in a dental office preferred Qualifications Skills Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health and safety regulations Basic computer skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and reliability Ability to stand for extended periods Bilingual in Spanish REQUIRED Requirements CPR Certification preferred Experience in a dental office preferred
Responsibilities
The Sterilization Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining dental instruments, as well as setting up trays for treatments. Additional duties include running spore tests for compliance and assisting dental staff as needed.
