Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Sterilization Technician in support of the Pawnee Indian Health Center to perform decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. This is a full-time, Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. position. Responsibilities Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, as specified by OSHA, AAMI, the CDC and other governing bodies. Follow strict guidelines for instructions of use on the sterilization process of instruments. Decontaminate and sterilize medical supplies and instruments for all Pawnee Indian Health Center departments. Assemble, wrap and sterilize cassettes of instruments. Restock, label, and maintain clinic wide instrument inventory, submits requisitions, collect and distribute instruments, trays, and facility medical equipment. Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. Sort mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to clinical staff in a timely manner. Operates steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed and items in loads. Maintain weekly and monthly maintenance on autoclaves to keep them running efficiently. Report defective or worn/rusted instruments to the supervisor of the appropriate department. Submit warranty repairs or purchase requisition for replacement instruments. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment monitoring and routine maintenance, including biological spore tests, water testing and ensures adequate functioning. Monitor and maintain appropriate records to remain compliant with applicable regulatory agencies (ex. instructions for use and manuals) as well as reporting occurrences immediately to supervisors. Perform inspections and environmental maintenance duties, and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, and in equipment storage areas. Verify that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removes defective equipment. Maintain a clean work area. Performs monthly deep cleaning of the department. Assists with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Degree- Diploma or higher. CPR/BLS certificate. 1 year of specialized experience as a Surgical Technologist. Certification is preferred but not required. Completed a Certified Registered Central Service Technician course. Estimated Salary/Wage USD $28.43/Hr. Up to USD $32.00/Hr.
