Sterilization Technician Reports to: Dentist / Operations Leader FLSA Status: Non - Exempt (Hourly) Department: Operations Employment Status: At-Will Incentive Eligibility: Eligible Job Summary The Sterilization Technician cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes medical and dental instruments, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards. They manage equipment inventory, deliver supplies, respond to urgent requests, and maintain accurate records and proper storage conditions. Working under the Direction of the Dentist and Operations Leader, the tasks and responsibilities of a Sterilization Technician include but are but not limited to: * Responsible for cleanliness of the dental practice * Sterilize dental instruments and materials using the ultrasonic and autoclave * Report on equipment and instrument failures and/or misplacement * Maintain OSHA compliance * Dispose of sharps as mandated by OSHA * Collection, preparation and organization of dental trays, instruments and equipment for scheduled dental visits * Proactive in leading and supporting the office culture by maintaining a positive, friendly, and supportive disposition * Other duties and responsibilities assigned Required * High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Self-starter, Independent worker/thinker * Organized, safety conscious * Customer Service Focused * Attention to detail * Lifelong learner, committed to continual educational advancement * Can take respectful, constructive feedback * Can complete tasks in a timely manner
