Our 101 lakes make our area a popular vacation destination for visitors from all across the Midwest. Job Description We’re seeking an Right-of-Way (ROW) Maintenance/ Groundman to join our team. This position involves maintaining our right-of-ways through tree trimming, mowing, and herbicide applications, ensuring the safety of our infrastructure, and collaborating with members and fellow cooperative employees. If you’re detail-oriented, and passionate about providing excellent service, this role is for you! Key Responsibilities Handles efficiently and in a timely fashion all work orders related to members’ trimming and removal requests. Properly uses ROW chemicals to complete all foliage and ground herbicide applications where needed. Provide courteous and efficient service/assistance to members. Additional Duties Maintain vehicles and equipment, including software updates. Investigate mistakes or damages as needed. May serve on an on-call rotation schedule. Qualifications High School diploma Valid Indiana driver’s license and Class A CDL Need chemical application license with knowledge and experience using herbicides preferred. Ability to read herbicide descriptions. Good voice and enunciation for customer work. Capable of writing, speaking and reading English Ability to use office machines, e.g. copiers, fax, calculators, personal computers. A demonstrated ability to build positive, productive relationships with people. Additional Information Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Required to talk to and with the public, members, employees. Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and navigate uneven terrain. Frequent driving throughout the service territory. Non-smoking office environment. Job requires exposure to the following herbicides or similar ones: Spike 40P, Spike 80W, Pathway, Round-Up, Accord, Garlon3A, Garlon4, Escort, Stalker, Krenite. Must reside within a 12 mile radius of the Cooperative.
