Description

JM Family is currently looking for a Steward to join our Marine department. Our Stewards work on our Gallant Lady yachts performing a variety of tasks. Our Steward position is not live-aboard while at home port. During cruising season, Stewards work 2 - 3-week assignments in the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and New England. All boats are based in the Fort Lauderdale/Deerfield area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold an STCW Basic certificate within 3 months of employment
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license
  • Must be a US citizen or be eligible to work within the US.
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Experience in managing guest services in the hospitality industry, marine, and/or food service, cocktail making, and wine service
  • Possess knowledge of foods, beverages, and service techniques.
  • Capable of delivering outstanding guest services and interactions.
  • Report and manage inventory levels, restocking, cleaning, etc.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to contribute individually with minimal supervision and as part of a team, exhibiting above-average initiative and follow-through on assignments
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Adequate PC skills, including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google products (Gmail, Google Drive)

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining interior housekeeping (detail cleaning) while also being held largely responsible for guest-cabin care
  • Perform necessary laundering of guest towels and linens
  • Applying great guest service (including silver service) and expert bartending skills
  • Assisting in the creative planning and quality service of themed dinners
  • Assisting with physical product inventories, provisioning, writing and updating checklists, and all other applicable tasks within the interior
  • Maintaining and displaying knowledge of international etiquette and protocol
  • Watchkeeping in accordance with the list of responsibilities in the crew mess station bill
  • Exterior-crew support as needed
  • Deliver guest-aligned experiences with a high level of service.
  • Demonstrates ownership and execution of team and individual goals/objectives
  • Increased guest satisfaction as measured through Director/host meetings and surveys
