JOB SUMMARY

We are currently recruiting an experienced and qualified Steward for a Full-Time position within our Fleet.
Successful candidates for this position should hold the following valid Canadian certification:
- Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Passenger Safety Management
- STCW Basic Safety
- Food Safety
- Company Specific Training, such as WHMIS, etc.

Stewards work primarily under the direction of the Cook. Their objective is to represent the highest standard of excellence in Galley & Cabin cleanliness and overall organization. While the Cook, Master or Chief Officer may assign any relevant task to the steward, the primary duties of the steward are:

  • Maintaining, cleaning and restocking mess rooms, pantries and fridges
  • Making coffee, snacks, salads and desserts as directed by the cook
  • Maintaining and organizing linen and cleaning supply storerooms regularly
  • Cleaning cabins of licensed crew and guests and unoccupied cabins
  • Change out bedding, towels etc for the above cabins & laundry onboard
  • Washing dishes, tables, counters and floors after each meal and assisting with serving of meals
  • Strict storage rotation of refrigerated food & dry stores & proper disposal of waste/spoilage
  • Clean and prep storage areas prior to receipt of new stores & assist Cook with proper storage
  • Cleaning and restocking of public washrooms
  • Other duties as required
