JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a courteous and enthusiastic Steward to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our guests. Your main duties will include setting up tables with tablecloths and decorative items such as candles and flowers, assisting guests with menu selections, and ensuring the restaurant and bar areas are well-stocked and organized.
You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate should be flexible with working hours, including weekends, and should uphold high standards of hygiene and customer service. A strong understanding of hospitality practices and a friendly demeanor are essential for this role.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Steward, or similar role in the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene, safety standards, and hospitality operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and multitasking ability
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Good physical stamina and mental alertness
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction

Responsibilities
  • Set up and clean tables before and after guest use
  • Arrange table linens, runners, and decorative items
  • Greet and escort guests to their tables
  • Serve water and other refreshments to guests
  • Present menus and assist guests with any inquiries
  • Refill glasses and clear used plates and utensils
  • Support waitstaff in collecting food from the kitchen
  • Assist with unloading and organizing kitchen supplies
  • Coordinate with housekeeping for linen management
  • Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware as needed
  • Respond to guest requests and refer urgent matters to the Restaurant Manager
  • Ensure the restaurant and bar areas are fully stocked and well-maintained
