Pay rate: $21.22/Hour Position Description Stewards/Dishwashers are responsible for overall cleanliness of the hotel restaurant, kitchen areas, and guest areas. Stewards/Dishwashers may work indoors or outdoors, cleaning all kitchen equipment, tools and supplies as well as all dishes, glasses, and equipment required for the operation. Must always conduct themselves in a professional manner to reflect the standards of the department. Responsibilities Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes Inspect, clean, and organize all items, send soiled items back for re-cleaning and re-washing if necessary Sort, soak, and wash china, glass and silverware Empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments Dispose of glass in the proper containers Break down cardboard boxes and place them and other recyclables in the recycle bin Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company. Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces Other duties as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
