The Lodge - Kitchen Steward   Job Title: The Lodge - Kitchen Steward Location: The Lodge Job Type: Part-Time   Job Summary:  The Kitchen Steward is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dishwashing areas. This role involves managing dishwashing duties, maintaining kitchen equipment, and supporting kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Dishwashing and Cleaning:     - Operate dishwashing machines and hand-wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.     - Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, floors, and walls.     - Empty and clean trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly. 2. Kitchen Maintenance:     - Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils in good working condition.     - Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen manager.     - Ensure proper storage of kitchen supplies and ingredients. 3. Support to Kitchen Staff:     - Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and organization as needed.     - Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations.     - Support the kitchen team during busy periods to ensure smooth operation. 4. Compliance:     - Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.     - Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure sanitary conditions. 5. Inventory Management:     - Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.     - Keep track of supplies and report shortages to the kitchen manager. Qualifications: - Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.  - Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and food safety standards.  - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  - Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.  - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Skills: - Ability to work well as part of a team.  - Strong communication skills.  - Time management and multitasking abilities. Working Conditions: - Work is performed in a commercial kitchen environment. - Requires standing for long periods, bending, and lifting.  - Exposure to cleaning chemicals and hot surfaces.   Expected Pay Range: $15-$17 per hour Shift Type: Part-Time, Weekends, and Holidays
