Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Stewarding Supervisor oversees the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food service areas of the property. He manages the stewarding team, ensuring all cleaning, sanitation, and waste management standards are upheld. Responsibilities include supervising dishwashing operations, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, coordinating with kitchen and banquet teams, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Train, schedule, coach and mentor stewarding personnel.
  • Understand the Job Descriptions and responsibilities of all stewarding staff in the hotel.
  • Attend training and development programs as and when required, improving performance, and promoting the development of the team.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Evaluate objectively the performance of subordinates and conduct periodically appraisals.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance work culture.

COLLABORATION & GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Work closely with Chief Steward, kitchen and front-of-house management to ensure cohesive service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong presence during service and interact with guests when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role in stewarding, preferably in a 5-star hotel or resort.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to manage schedules, inventory, and cleaning protocols efficiently.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery.
  • Good communication skills and basic computer literacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
