Description

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising the stewarding team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen and food & beverage back-of-house areas. The role ensures proper handling of equipment, adherence to safety and sanitation policies, and supports smooth kitchen operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Previous experience in stewarding, a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory and stock control.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry heavy items (up to 25kg).

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate stewarding team members during shifts.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Monitor proper use and handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
  • Control and maintain inventory of cleaning materials, kitchen utensils, and operating equipment.
  • Assist in the training and development of stewarding colleagues.
  • Maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment in proper working condition.
  • Enforce hygiene, health, and safety standards in compliance with HACCP and hotel policies.
  • Organize garbage separation, disposal, and recycling according to environmental standards.
  • Support kitchen and banquet operations by ensuring sufficient equipment availability.
  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage.
  • Report and follow up on any maintenance issues.
  • Ensure colleagues follow proper grooming and discipline standards.
